America's immigration policies are outdated and in need of a major overhaul. U.S. shores have become a quick and easy haven for those unfortunate enough to have been born into a depressed economy. I say tough luck! Of course I would never propose that we fence our borders as some suggested during the last presidential election. However, you in Congress can greatly slow unwanted immigration by tightening the rules on political asylum, speeding up the approval process for entry visas, and stiffening the penalties for international criminals who deal in "human cargo."
